The Crete Township Annual Town meeting is held the second Tuesday of each April at 7:00 p.m. in the Crete Town Hall, located at 1367 Wood St. Historically, this meeting reflects the most fundamental type of government in which each registered voter in the Township has an equal voice.
The Annual Town meeting is an opportunity for the residents of the Township to participate in grassroots government. The Supervisor’s report and the Highway Commissioner’s reports will be on display prior to the meeting. These reports will be given at the meeting by the Town Clerk. The Town Clerk is the only elected official who acts in an official capacity at the Town Meeting. Electors should be aware that the duties and responsibilities of townships are limited by Illinois State Statute.
